Virginia M. "Sue" Howard, 74, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born February 13, 1935, in Sedalia, a daughter of Harley and Gladys Keele Wolfe. On July 19, 1958, she married LeRoy Howard, who died June 21, 1988.
Mrs. Howard retired from Rival Manufacturing after 36 years. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church and VFW Post 2591 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, dancing, taking Sunday rides, cooking for family holidays, and was a great caregiver.
Surviving are three children, Dennis Dawson and Robert Dawson, both of Sedalia, and Terry Drum, of La Monte; two step-children, Larry Howard and Kathy Howard; a sister, Joyce Hester, of Sedalia; a brother, Donnie Wolfe, of Edwards; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a step-son, Danny Howard; a brother, George Wolfe; a sister, Shirley Clark; and two nephews, Harold Ray Wolfe and Kelvin Hester.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elvis Durrill officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jesse Drum, Jared Drum, Kevin Dawson, Dennis Dawson Jr., Gary Bowers, and Derwin McNeal.
Honorary bearers will be Patrick Perry and John Couchman Jr.
Burial will be in Houstonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
