Julius Andrew “Doc” Visentin, 85, of Sedalia, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

He was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Kansas City, a son of Jerry and Rose Corazine Visentin. On Nov. 7, 1945, in Paola, Kan., he was married to Betty Griffin, who died Aug.
20, 1998.
Mr. Visentin was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moose Lodge 1494, Elks Lodge 125, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 and Sedalia Men’s Choir. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He served from 1943 to
1946 in Central Europe, Rhineland and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded two bronze stars.

He was an agent for New York Life Insurance Company and was a realtor for Fairway Realty, before retiring.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Visentin, and his wife, Dot, of Atlanta, Ga., Carl
Visentin, and his wife, Cindy, of Atlanta, Ga., and Jerry Visentin, and his wife, Susan, of Sedalia; a brother, Angelo Visentin, of Kansas City; a sister, Betty Martin, of Kansas City; four grandchildren, Kelley Lowrimore, Kevin Visentin, Chris Visentin and Dustin
Visentin; and six great grandchildren, Matthew Lowrimore, Nicholas Lowrimore, Tyler
Visentin, Troy Visentin, Jacob Visentin and Drew Visentin.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Cabrini.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Vincent Hoying officiating.

Pallbearers will be John Rucker, Joe Funk, Charles Palmer, Tim Martin, Tim Martin
Jr. and Gary Yancey. Paul Martin will be an honorary pallbearer.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with full military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
