Virginia M. Schlobohm, 97, of Sedalia, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Sylvia
G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born January 6, 1908, in Smithton, a daughter of John J. and Beatrice
R. Beasmore Lamm. On November 22, 1929, in Smithton, she was married to Ernest O. Schlobohm, who died April 24, 1999.
Mrs. Schlobohm was a member of First United Methodist Church. She taught
school early in her life. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, reading the Bible, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are four sons, J.D. Schlobohm, of Sedalia, Bobby Schlobohm, of Lee’s
Summit, David Schlobohm, of Lenexa, Kan., and Marion Schlobohm, of Peoria, Ariz.; four daughters, Doris Maggi, of Bolivar, Betty Lou Rezin, of Lee’s Summit, Judie Hinton, of Clive, Iowa, and Lynda Maloney, of Independence; a brother, Beasmore Lamm, of Smithton; a sister, Betty Rose Padgett, of Sedalia; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by two sons, Wesley Gene Schlobohm and Vance Schlobohm; two brothers, Mark Lamm and Bud Lamm; a sister, Nettie Baum; a grandson, J. Pat Maloney; and two great grandsons, Brian Schlobohm and Jason Schlobohm.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Schlobohm, Mike Maloney, Nick Hinton, Jeff Kraus,
Mike Shoemaker and Bill Schlobohm.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the
funeral home.
