Virgil Elisha Wills, 84, of Sedalia, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at his home.

He was born March 22, 1923, in Pettis County, a son of Guy Hugh and Ethel
Hager Wills. On Nov. 20, 1949, in Sedalia, he was married to Edna Marie
McMullin, who died Jan. 3, 2004.

Mr. Wills was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He built over 25
homes in the Sedalia area, including the first all electric home. He also taught
building trades at State Fair Community College. He enjoyed fishing, gardening,
volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and going on mission trips with the church.
He was a master woodworker. He attended Smith-Cotton High School and
Southwest Baptist College. He was a Marines veteran of World War II.

Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Wasson, and his wife, Diane, of Lee’s Summit;
a sister, Dorothy Niederwimmer, of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Scott and Mark
Wasson; and three great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Forest; and a sister, Pauline Pace.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Drew Hill officiating.

Pallbearers will be Scott Wasson, Mark Wasson, Kenneth Lumpe, Owen Fox,
Kim Smith and Keith Smith.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, with full military honors
conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at
the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Habitat for Humanity or First
Baptist Church missions program.
