William Otis Warning, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 10, 2008, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Taylor, Missouri, a son of Harry and Florence Warning, of LaGrange, Missouri.
Bill was in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in the Korean War. After military service, he went to Ohio to become a meat cutter and worked as a butcher for eight years. Later, he worked for the State of Missouri as a Missouri State Park Superintendent, retiring in 1990.
On Sept. 25, 1955, Bill married, and is survived by his wife, Marian Jean Kramer. He is also survived by a son, Tom, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a daughter, Lori, of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Jacob and Kacey Warning, both of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters, Maxine Baum, of Keokuk, Iowa, and Elsie Sherwood, of LaGrange; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Todd; and three brothers, LeRoy, Austin and Paul.
Bill was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Craig Bowen officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Dover Cemetery near LaGrange.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bethany Baptist Church mission fund.
