Dorris Lucille Wilson, 85, of LaMonte, Missouri, died Monday, March 8, 2004 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

She was born September 19, 1918, in Newton, Kansas, daughter of Harvey Andrew and Ruth Ann Huffman Unruh.  On September 19, 1936, in Claflin, Kansas, she was married to Kenneth B. Wilson, who died in 1995.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McPherson, Kansas and the United Methodist Women.  She was a homemaker and made her home in McPherson for 48 years, before moving to LaMonte, Missouri in 1994 to be close to her daughters.

She was loved by many who knew her, and until her death found happiness in each day and brought cheer to those around her.  A sunbeam dimmed with her death, however, the stars shine brighter.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Wilson, and his wife, Kathryn, of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; three daughters, Karen Madsen, and her husband, John, of Oak Grove, Missouri, Suzann Wehking, of Littleton, Colorado, and Dina Crawford, and her husband, Dale, of LaMonte, Missouri; a son-in-law, Richard McMains, of Fordland, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Jack Unruh, and his wife, Donna; a sister, Helen Lehman, of Newton, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Norma, in 1993; a son, Larry, in 2003; her step father, Elmer Davis; a sister, Maurine Hayes; a son-in-law, Harvey Wehking, in 1998; a grandson, Van, in 2000; and a great granddaughter, Emily, in 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Crawford, Tim Madsen, Terry Madsen, Kenneth Wehking, Stanley Wehking, Shawn Wilson, Matt Wilson and Ben McMains.

Visitation will be held one hour before the service Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
