Sadie Ellen Witt, 96, of Sedalia, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1912, in Clinton, a daughter of Phillip LeRoy and Bessie May Crammer Wareham. On June 12, 1933, in Independence, she married Leland G. Witt, who died Feb. 1, 1995.
Mrs. Witt was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Odell Circle. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
Surviving are a son, Larry Witt, and his wife, Marshelle, of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter, Joyce E. Benson, of Clearwater, Florida; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Geneva Grisham, of Kansas City. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Pat Roller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
