Mary Ellen Wombles, 77, of Sedalia, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at her home.
She was born August 11, 1927, in Pettis County, a daughter of Clarence and Mary Wear Weathers. She was married to William E. Hunter, who preceded her in death. On July 28, 1981, in Sedalia, she was married to Alvin
Wombles, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Wombles was a Baptist. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching soap operas and going to garage sales.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Hunter Rowe and Lola Hunter Dickerson, both of Sedalia; three sons, Eddie Hunter, Dennis Hunter and Clarence Hunter, all of Sedalia; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Weathers and Walter Weathers, both of Sedalia; and a sister, Katherine Hood, of Bolivar.
She was predeceased by two sons, Robert Hunter and David Hunter; and a daughter, Joane Hunter Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Kendall Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Toliver, Donald Vollrath, Ken Hood, Shannon Hood, Shannon Kilcrease and Melvin Hood, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
