Mr. Woolery worked for BOMAG in Warrensburg. He had also worked for Parkhurst Manufacturing in Sedalia. He enjoyed dirt track racing. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, DeeAnne Janssen, and her husband, David, of Hastings, Neb.; a son, Keith Russell, and his wife, Heidi, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Sarah Porter, Kristen Porter, Allie Janssen, Jordan Janssen, Jefferson Janssen and Quinn Russell.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Adam Averett; and a sister, Yvonne Uptegrove.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Heckart Funeral Home. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 will conduct military honors at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

John D. Woolery, 59, of Sedalia, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born Nov. 6, 1949, in Sedalia, a son of Jewell and Leta C. Rodenbach Woolery. He was married to Jacklynn Sanford, who survives of the home.
